We really closely with bereaved people who've struggled with funeral costs. They also tell their stories to politicians and on TV, radio and in newspapers, to spread the word and help others avoid the problems they faced.
Funeral poverty is where the price of a funeral is beyond a person’s ability to pay. It is a growing national crisis most affecting those on the lowest incomes.
In 2019, the average cost of a funeral in the UK was £3,785.
This is a substantial amount of money which many people do not have. Furthermore, if a person is not able to afford this cost, there are very few options available to them.
Please can you take a look and let me know if you have any edits to make, or if you would not like your organisation to be listed as a member of the Alliance before 12pm on Friday 13th November.
